Praise be the Lord. As the Catholics grew in numbers and the church in Ruwi became insufficient, His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said offered a plot of land in Ghala, a short distance from the airport. Under the wise direction of Fr. Barnabas Madii, a foundation stone was laid for the Church dedicated to the Holy Spirit on 27th November 1987 by the Apostolic Nuncio Mgr. Louis Robles Diaz, assisted by Bishop Gremoli. Fr. Barnabas became the first Parish Priest, and due to his initiative, the very fine complex was enriched in 1990. Very soon, H.M. Sultan Qaboos gifted the Holy Spirit Catholic Church with a beautiful Pipe Organ. Added to it, the parishioners witnessed the blessing and opening of the grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes on 31st May 1991. May the Spirit of God be blessed.

5. St. Luke's Guild — The parish free clinic was inaugurated on 25th February 2005.

7. Catholic Animation Ministry of Ghala (CAMG) Commenced in 2006
8. Mother Teresa’s Poor Fund (MTPF) Commenced in 2006
9. Xmas Love, first celebration was on 28th December 2007
10. Easter Joy, first celebration was on 28th March 2008
11. 40 hours Parish Adoration commenced with the Lent on 6th February 2008
12. Pentecostal Union Night Vigil Service commenced on the Feast of Pentecost 2007
